Is a 2-year-old, too young to diet?

It has been reported recently in Parentdish.co.uk that a mother limited her daughter on a diet calories started at the age of two.
She explained that she didn't want her daughter to grow up and look like her, weighing 238 pounds. This story is sure to some controversy as to create the waving the questions how young is too young to diet and how much calories limit child abuse should be considered.
Aly Gilardoni limited began her now 8-year-old daughter on a calorie diet if you had only one infant. Continue to allow only have 700 calories a day, what is recommended for a growing 8 year old daughter.
The daughter says child does not want you to be a big and grow until look like your mother. The mother eats still whatever you nibble on junk food after the daughter to bed goes. GILARDONI was even quoted:

"I feel some guilt about have treated but Corleigh's not disturbed."I am glad that I have trained her.I would like to grow her happy and things I did never I look. When looking in the mirror, see is still a huge, monstrous woman. Corleigh isn't I so underweight goes to die next week. "With an eating disorder you canget it. But through it with therapy if you're fat,  you are fat for life."
Although the daughter appears underweight, healthy but easy this story raises a lot of red flags.
