Who has stopped to buy diet books?

Recently I wore two large pockets full of nutrition in the local books secondhand - load. The hike alone must have burned from at least 12 calories. I had everything from low budget self-published stories until best-sellers such as the South Beach Diet and other imitators.

I could think help but about how little difference these books are really made . Some well-meaning self-help of guides, while other books are little more than money grabbing fluff.

How many diet books grace your shelves (or Kindle or iPad...)?

In the last 6 years publishers books have me sending to check.First it was interesting - but after a few years ago I met a fatigue point. The temptation to cynicism was hard to resist – there was very little new insights written.

Most publishers would your release date for a few days after Christmas - Time. About 6 weeks later  most books  would collect dust nationwide  on bookshelves "Diet season" . Inspite of this every year a wide variety of books beat, the market and to be brutally honest, most are the same information over and over processed.

The age which seems to be over - either, "in" diet or what is "hot" falls into one increasingly shorter and faster cycle.

To be fair, there are many very interesting books come, offer a useful or passionate angle on diet and weight loss - but these are to be a minority.

There is a season for everything

I've noticed that what is popular in diets almost cyclical. mature diets can return to Vogue, as if you were simply something Neues.Oder older diets keep bringing out new editions every few years.

What says the bestseller list...
A review of Amazon's diet bestseller reveals:

Paleo diet are on the menu (paleo solution, the paleo diet, Primal blueprint) . Props go to mark Sisson author he keeps primal blueprint – an excellent and passionate blog.rehashed versions of old favorites keep coming - the new Atkins and South Beach Diet Supercharged.And...(Yes the cynicism is back) - slim blonde women are good at selling books...

Buy books still diet?
